I will be doing my photo shoot on Tuesday the 13th April. Before my shoot I thought it would be a good idea to visit the location and take some photographs, so that I can think about where the models will be positioned look at the space. I have chosen this alleyway as I didn't want it to be somewhere perfect like Dior's shoots in Paris. I hope that shooting it hear will give it an edge and the idea that women don't live perfect lives in perfect places.
I really hope that the day will run smoothly, my back up plan is to do the shoot inside Charlotte's house as it is quite big and dark. I have arranged a photographer to help me, and some hair and makeup artists. The models I have chosen from LMP Models in Bournemouth. It has been one the hardest things Ive ever had to organize with so many people, and finding convenient times, location places, and outfits has been very difficult. But a fun, exciting and usefully experience which I wont forget.

Trip to Berlin. Scott wearing the hat I brought made oCheck Spellingf real rabbit fur.
The group at the train station.

Tutor having breakfast.

Me playing pool.

Illustrations from the uni we visited they were really good drawing with some practice I maybe able to do some as good.

Idea for our exhibition using boxes, our theme is also black and white.

I really liked the patterns that were made up.

I thought this collection was really good. I thought the shapes of the garments were interesting and they went well together as a whole.

I liked the different textures that this collection had some were quite floaty and dream like.

Idea for illustrations to be stuck onto wall on very thin paper. On a large scale this looks effective.

Famous Berlin gate.

I like the huge columns.

Memorial for the Jews that died. I really liked the way it was displayed it was simple but effective.

Me by the remainder of the Berlin Wall.

Us lot.

Amazing chocolate shop. I thought this chocolate egg looked really beautiful a bit like a Faberge.

Me and Charlotte

Really beautiful architecture.

Famous red and green man for there traffic lights.

View from inside the plane looking out over the sky. I had a really great time on this trip, Berlin is defiantly an up and coming city and in the future I hope to return.
Photographs I took when I visited the V & A Museum in London. I really liked the way the fashion section was set out, with each collection in large separate cabinets. Each cabinet was bright and painted white inside which made it easy to see the garments on display. There were photographs and illustrations along side the garments so you could see more inspiration and where the ideas originated from. There were also sketch books on display which were quite inspiring they showed development form the concept to the final outcome. I hope to try and achieve this with my research file.

In the older fashion section the displays were not so clear the lighting was darker and it was harder to take photographs.

I really liked the shape of this purple dress it reminded me of the sin vanity.

I really love the shape and colour of this dress It reminds me of the one i have brought form my photo shoot for Gluttony.

Hear are all my outfits hung up so they don't get creased and protected with covers in each of the bags are the accessories and shoes for each of the outfits.

Outfit for the sin wrath laid out with all accessories and props. I did this so I could see how each of the outfits was going to look and to check that I had everything for it. For this outfit i chose a dark red dress to represent an angry, fiery personality. Black thorn roses and dark black accessories set quite a dark mood slightly Gothic. I have tried to keep all my outfits quite luxurious to be in keeping with my chosen designer Dior ( especially from the early period of the couture House).I have found long gloves and where possible costume jewellery of the 1950's to complement the outfits. To make the look more contemporary i will have more extreme hair and makeup, this has been inspired by John Galliano collections from spring 2008 runway collection and his 2007 spring couture collections.

Outfit for the sin Avarice, for this sin i have chosen a gold dress to represent wealth and riches luxurious fur with gold leaves and money. This vintage dress is made of gold velvet it is a simple design with a full skirt that I will add volume to, like a Dior silhouette, using a hooped underskirt.

For the sin vanity i have chosen a purple dress with sparkly diamond pieces to show beauty i have brought vintage vanity mirrors. I have sourced most of the dresses and accessories from e-bay and from vintage shops like beau, clobber and bows & bells. This dress has a contoured fit, tight and figure hugging until it forms a mermaids tail train.

Outfit for the sin sloth. I have chosen a light blue dress as i think of sloth being a relaxed mellow colour. Accessories white in soft fabrics for example the feather bower for her to snuggle into and be in a sleepy dream world. This original blue satin 1950's dress was won on e-bay. I was very pleased with the dress design as it has the Dior New Look, with a tight waist and very full skirt.

Outfit for the sin lust. I wanted the outfit for lust to be more reveling as if she is trying to seduce someone. For this i have chosen the colour red and teamed it with a few black accessories. I've used a corset to show the feminine figure.I may use a
short black skirt on top of the short red petticoat to add more colour contrast.

Outfit for the sin envy I brought this green dress from a vintage shop. I was pleased with the dark rich colour of the dress.I have teamed it up with black accessories to enhance the feeling of envy. I was pleased with the pointed toe shoes, these are more in keeping with the dress and the theme. The ivy will be used to wrap around her shoulders and I may put ivy in her hair.

Outfit for the sin gluttony. I was pleased to find this dress in a vintage shop, I like the Dior style with tight waist and full skirt. I have petticoats to exaggerate the fullness of the skirt. The dress is in silk and I have teamed it with ivory accessories and matching pink shoes. I have bought a huge strawberry gateaux from Iceland that I will use during the photo shoot as a prop for gluttony

A few weeks ago I visited The Brighton and Hove Museum as you entered the main gallery it was spacious with a high celling as show in the photograph below. Displayed in the gallery there was modern and old furniture. I found this section the most inspiring with all the different shapes and materials the furniture was made form. I could see how these elements could have been translated into garments.

The Egyptian gallery had recently been refurbished with interactive touch screen displays with educational fact games. This is a new exciting way for the younger generation to learn about ancient history.

The fashion and costume section of the gallery was spreed out having the clothes displayed in rows of cabinets. I felt there was a little too much empty space hear and perhaps the display cabinets could have been places in a more exciting way other than rows. The room was fairly dingy and it was hard to photograph the clothing. However they displayed a variety of clothing within the cabinets.

This was a fun activity you could type your name on to the touch screen display and it would convert it into Egyptian hieroglyphics. It was really easy to use and was quite popular with a few people wanting a go.

In this section of the gallery it displayed local object which make up the seaside towns character. Brighton used to but on Punch and Judy shows on the beach for young children. This was a replica that you could play with and make up your own show.

I really love the detail and craftmanship that goes into this ornate furniture.

I visited the Brighton and Hove museum (see pictures above) to compare it to the Nick Knights Show studio exhibition. This museum displayed the historic pieces in a more traditional way using glass cabinets and stands that furniture was placed on. There were some interactive elements added in certain areas of the museum. Foe example in the Egyptian section you could type your name onto the touch screen computer and it would convert it into hieroglyphics. I found this fun and seeing what my name looked like in another language was exciting.
There were phones that you could pick up and they would explain to you about the object you were looking at. This is a good idea if you are not a keen reader, or if you have a disability.
